General Motors will build a rover for astronauts on the moon [VIDEO]

Lockheed Martin and General Motors have announced plans to build an autonomous lunar rover as part of NASA's Artemis space program. The device will receive an electric drive and can begin work as early as 2024, helping astronauts navigate the satellite.
Previously, NASA invited all interested parties to work on the concept of an autonomous vehicle for conquering the moon. Apparently, such an important mission is entrusted to the American companies Lockheed Martin and General Motors. During the press conference, the details of the lunar apparatus, which should provide mobility to the astronauts of the Artemis mission, became known. The first flight may take place as early as 2024, which means that there is not much time left.
Lunokhod is in the early stages of development. It is known that it will be created from ultra-light and durable materials, but there is nothing to tell about them yet. Apparently, the developers have an early concept in their hands, and even then it is mostly at the stage of drawings. The vehicle is known to be powered by renewable energy, using solar panels or any other source that will arrive on the moon along with the astronauts.
